Why so blue?

I was making a salad the other day, and rummaged around in the refrigerator for dressing. Blue cheese dressing? I haven't had that in a while. Apparently, that was very true.

I ended up finding (and tossing) two bottles of the stuff that expired in 2006.

No taste test necessary. I wasn't taking any chances; this was as bad as the recently excavated cream cheese. The funny thing is, they both looked and smelled perfectly fine.
